The purpose of Illuminate was to emphasize the universal messages shared between world religions. By decontextualizing religious poetry and hymns, the viewer is able to view religion in a new way. Anonymity allows for an unbiased experience that encourages open mindedness. When labels are removed, one is free to connect with other people and religions. I presented these illuminated messages in the form of posters. I handmade a book that would feature all of the posters I had created. This book revealed the authorship of the messages.
